Exige 380 exhaust onto a 350

This thread mentions that a dealer offered to put a 380 exhaust on a 350 so it must be possible https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&... I have read elsewhere though that there was some compatibility issue due to the diameter of the exhaust being different? I'd be interested to find the definitive answer on this.

no, not at all.
In fact both Bell & Colvill and Hoffmans rave about them.
Call Jim, mobile listed on his website. He is currently developing a race exhaust which sounds great but gets into all UK track days - it also has no packing so no issues with higher temps seen on track!
If you won't track it then they do a road version which sounds very good and is valved.
He is a passionate scotsman so don't expect it to be a short phone call!

Considerable differences between the 350 and the 380 (Evora 400) exhausts.
If you wish to fit the 380 exhaust to the 350, you need to also fit the downpipes (manifolds are the same on all V6 models).
Downpipes:
Bigger bore on the 380 - 60mm Vs. 51mm on the 350. Waste of time really with those manifolds/pre-cats. You see the 3" pipework after the flexy? 2.5" on the 350. Not a great design of merge collector on the 380(!) - more a 'T' junction than a merge.
Squirt-gun welding (MIG) - can you spot the leaks? Both downpipes!
Systems:
3" 380/Evora 400 system on the left. 2.5" 350 system on the right.
A curious anomaly on the 380/400 system; the pipe feeding the "quiet" section of the silencer is only 1.875"dia. A 3.5Ltr supercharged V6 breathing through a 1.875"dia pipe (up to 4500prm anyway) - although you can open the valve manually. EU drive-by noise tests are tough.
On the 350 it's 2.5" to the "quiet" section (although that is reduced internally to 2.125") -
Exhaust valve will operate the same way on both installs.

Thanks very much for the detailed reply! Very helpful. How does the track system compare in sound to a normal 350? And how does the road system sound compare to the 380?
I currently don't have the Lotus, but have driven the Evora 400 and Exige 350. Loved the Evora 400 sound; it made it even more of an event, so would like to get similar on the 350 if/when I buy it.

Where are you in the south east?
There is a lotus meet up just outside guildford on Sunday and with the amount of cars going I would imagine someone will have the 2bular or larini systems for you to listen to.

He He - "gargly" - that's a good description of the 3" exhaust as the valve opens and the revs are still climbing. Sounds crap to me.
Exhaust sound - it's all subjective when it comes to appreciation but owners should know that when the valve opens and the 3" bore comes into play, the boost drops and you lose 40bhp.

Hmm - not sure you understand the word "boost" in the context of a forced induction motor? I'm having a few days off but will return to this later.That's an interesting point of view.

I've seen the same drop in power when increasing the bore of the exhaust. Working with our Exige S 2ZZ-GE 4-1 manifold, we'd always seen good increases with various mods. Smaller SC pulley, bigger injectors/fuel pump etc. I wondered about stepping up to a 70mm exit on the manifold (from 63.5mm) - we were approaching 300bhp and it seemed a logical step. Unfortunately, we dropped boost and and 20bhp. On the MP45 SC cars, we use a smaller-bore 4-1 as the bigger-bore from the MP62 cars drops too much boost/power.
