Hello everyone and please help.

I have a Elise S1 50th Anniversary.

only just after cleaning the car (hose pipe not pressure wash) afterwards, maybe after 5 mins of normal driving the car develops a big misfire under acceleration from around 2500rpm.

after being driven then left for 10 mins seems fine and drives normally. any ideas why this has started happening and also how to fix it as its a pain in the ***.

Thankyou in advance Ben,

Tickle

I had the leads, plugs and coil packs changed when I had a misfire on my S1. I also had the misfire detection kit removed, IIRC this is only on VVC cars.

It does sound more like your plugs got wet. The plug holes are deep, check there is no water in them. A tampon works well to dry them!
