Looking for 2nd set of track-biased tyres for S1 135 Sport on standard 15 and 16 inch rims.
See Elise Parts have some YOKOHAMA AD07 on special offer. Would I be best in member experience going for these or current AD08/Rs?

Ideally, I'd like to mount these on a separate set of rims mainly for track use, anyone got experience /access knowledge of affordable 15/16 inch choices?

If you're after something track biased then take a look at Avon ZZR's-I had a set on my S1 and loved them. Grip very well with a bit of heat in them and aren't disastrous if the road is cold or a bit damp-you just need to respect the fact they aren't going to generate the same adhesion as a road tyre in those conditions. They're reasonably priced, too.

I didn't think you could get AD07s in S1 sizes?

Thanks for the prompt replies & I'll look at Avon as a previous Ford wore them. 2nd reply correct, not a ailable S1.

I have some part used ZZRs for the S1 if you are interested? Acutally I have two sets!
1 set is just the tyres themselves
The other are the tyres mounted on some new old stock 'rimstock' 12 spoke wheels

I recently sold my S1 and the new owner didn't want them in the deal.

Let me know if interested in any of these.
Based on the wear I've seen I would say you'll get 4-5 track days on each set of my above tyres given the wear on them, so a good way to save yourself some cash smile

I'm facing the same decision with my Exige - can't choose between R888R and ZZRs.

Can anyone confirm how much firmer and noisier the ZZrs are? I want a good tyre for track days but car is used for fast road too.

Hope this info helps you too OP.

ZZR's have a very stiff sidewall and don't really get working on the road IMO. If it's a mostly track car get ZZR's otherwise I'd avoid.

No track use, but I have AD08R's on my Sport 135 and they have been brilliant for road use
