Bonjour a Tous:

After many years, 9 actually,of TVR ownership, I finally took the plunge in June of 2016 and purchased a 2002 Ruby Red 111S.

I am over the moon with my purchase and after many many enjoyable hours of opened topped driving here in the south of France, I now wanting to change the soft top, Ruby, came with a Red soft top which is in as new condition, I feel a Black option would be more in keeping with her and as such can anybody advise me where I can, if possible, exchange my soft top for a Black one, or is there the option of changing the fabric, if so who would I approach to do this.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Best Regards

Brian

Hi Brian

I might be interested in your red soft top for my VX220.

I don't have a black one to swap I'm afraid however they're fairly common on eBay smile

Ahhhh - I assumed it was going to be the short tailed one, sorry. The longtail sadly won't fit my car.

Hopefully you'll get sorted elsewhere and congratulations on the purchase, they're blooming great little cars.

Having done this in the past I wouldn't recommend Renovo to anyone. I followed the instructions to the letter and it completely ruined my very first soft top. All you need to do is Google the reviews and you'll see some images of the mess it makes of them.

Thank's for all you advise, have found a company in the UK, Allon White Sports Cars, Lotus approved, who will replace the existing Red top fabric for a Black one, Yippee, cost £425,

I'll swap you my black longtail S2 roof for a red one if it's in decent condition.

I can't see how to PM you, but if you send me a message we can sort something I'm sure.

Slightly off-topic, but I thought all S2 111Ss were short-tail? Has it been modified or am I just wrong? smile

I think early S2's have a long tail roof (similar to the S1's).

Early 120bhp S2s had long-tail roofs (although it's actually nothing like the S1's roof except aesthetically). I thought all 111Ss had the short-tail setup though.

I could very well be wrong. smile

Yes, sorry - I missed the 111s bit.
I agree, I thought by the time the 111s turned up they were all short roofs.

Possible someone swapped it for some reason?
Or we're both mistaken?
Or, aliens?

It's probably aliens.
