The velcro that holds the boot carpet in place on my Exige has given up, so the boot is now a tangle of black carpet. I have an entire shelf full of everything from Araldite to, err, Zuperglue (sorry) in the garage, but I've become paranoid that I might use a glue that will somehow weaken or leach through the fibreglass. Evostick? Hot glue gun? Pop rivets?

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to answer my dull question smile

If a light scuff of the surface and adhesive velcro isn't enough, Tiger-Seal or Sika-flex type products are much favoured in kitcar building for sticking stuff to GRPs panels.

You'll probably not need much of it for your job, but it only comes in full-size mastik cartridges.

Get the velco that comes with the 3 m backing, this adhesive bonds to almost al smooth surfaces Gelcoat), if you want to bond to inner shell GFRP, you need to remove the top surface(wax coating) by light sanding and you can bond the velco(incase of fabric backing with almost any Araldite.
solvent clean with acetone recommended , do not use brake cleaner or any other paint remover as a solvent cleaner.

also see if you can get a hold of Mushroom tape, this is 100 x better that velco and last almost for ever.
