I posted this in the ariel forum and thought I would do the same here to see what the responses are

Does anyone have any real life experience of the comparison as they appear to be cars in a similar vein.

Been Toying with the idea of a 340R now that they are getting cheaper, love the atom but not sure I can afford the 25-30K for the 220 or better that I would lust after whereas 340Rs are to be had at the 16-18k range

If your going for a sunny day track day car then go for broke and get the least practical, lightest and fastest you can. So, that's the Atom then followed by the 340R if you can't afford it.
Spanner in the works comment - Go for the 340R and have the K seies junked and a Honda lump chucked in when you can afford it. £10,000 conversion and over 200hp.

Lovely decision to have to make though...

There was an Atom at Castle Combe on Saturday in the Porsche Owners Club day (no idea what the Atom was doing there but it was on track)

It looked fantastic. I love the way everything is exposed so you can see what is going on. Some of the detailing is amazing.

The 4 GT3 RS's parked nearby didnt get anywhere near as much attention.

340R every time based on nothing more than good looks - as has been noted before, you can get a honda lump stuck in the back now which will make it absolutely

340R every time - a proper car instead of a scaffolding amalgam
