Hi All,

some advice as to the likely cause of this... driving to work this morning and I noticed a shudder and the instrument panel looks like it has been turned off and back on... pretty sure the engine stalled but doing about 50 / 60 (and sometimes less).

Seems like fuel starvation but not sure of the likely cause....anyone any thoughts ?

Cre8.

If the display glitched off, that would imply an electrical problem.

Depending on where it is, an electrical problem could easily effect ignition and/or fuel injection. Given the symptoms you describe, I'd guess the ECU probably briefly lost power?

Sportomotive are still going but are now in Bournemouth rather than Salibury.

Hi All,

just by way of an update, I had to travel down to Dorchester a couple of weeks ago and the car was as good as gold all the way until I got there (about 30 / 40 minute drive), then just as I pulled onto a country road (good old sat nav), it started again, basically the engine turned off but as it was in gear it just bump started, dash electrics gone, no speedo etc... made it to my destination then returned home...was fine again until 30 / 40 minutes when I pulled on to the inside lane of a roundabout and it died on me completely, no engine nothing... handy on the inside lane of a busy roundabout!!! A kindly passer by helped me push to a safe place. Checked battery leads etc all secure, (noted second immobiliser (don't ask I've no idea) light was not flashing) waited 5 mins, immobiliser lights start flashing, car starts no problem, then 5 mins in started bump starting again... I gave in... I called Cos at Sportomotive and arranged for him to have the car.

He spent 4 / 5 days investigating but was unable to reproduce the fault, we agreed that the 2nd immobiliser which it turned out was for a motor bike was the likely cause (and was faulty (but in a different way)) so he removed it.... got the car back yesterday... driving to work today, car stalled at a roundabout (stopped waiting) but started again straight away.... It's only done that and there's been no other issues, so I have a few things crossed that it was just my bad driving (the stall this morning) if not Cos might have to hav e it back after xmas - next up fuel pump / filters I guess ?

On a side note, really impressed with Sportomotive, Cos if you're reading this, top service mate, if you can get the pot holes in the road into your place filled in and the speed ramps removed !!! :-)

I have to drive to Andover tonight (and back) 2 hour round trip (gulp!)

Merry xmas everyone.
