Lotus Recall

I've just seen the recall below on the Lotus web site. My car looks like it's one of the effected. Anybody know what the recall is for?

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ELISE, EXIGE & 340R OWNERS


It has become necessary to issue a vehicle recall notice to a small number of our customers.


With this in mind could we please ask all current owners of vehicles within the vin ranges listed below to contact their nearest or designated Dealership quoting their vin number to find out if they have any outstanding recalls.


Elise MK1, 111S build dates from 1 Sept 1999 to 31 Aug 2001, VIN numbers X 5722 to Y 1916


Elise MK1, build dates from 1 Oct 1999 to 31 Jan 2001, VIN numbers X 7980 to Y 2067


Elise MK1, build dates from 1 Sept 1998 to 1 Jan 1999, VIN numbers W 3980 to X 5772


Exige, 340R build dates from 1 Oct 1999 to 31 Jan 2001, VIN numbers Y 0001 to Y 0567

I couldn't find anything about this on the Official Lotus Club site, only the information you already posted. I suggest you call the number given tomorrow morning and find out what the problem is.
Although my car isn't affected by this recall, I'm curious to know what it is.

Probably sticking plastic TB's eh Bonce, no probs there then! But in all seriousness would like to know myself. I think mine has had 3 or 4 so far.

have you now fitted the trophy aliminium tb then ?

Yeah, seems to rev freer, though not sure if it doe anything for throttle response, or that could be that I am c**p at basic mechanics!
