Hi all, I am thinking of getting an Elise, I have a tvr chimaera at the moment. I have been in a s1 exige on a track day many years ago and I haven been in a s2 my mate had also some years ago.budget of around £10-15k for the right car and looking for advice. What is considered a high miler? What are the most desirable models etc. Don't mind a s1 or an s2 but I presume an s1 would be a better investment

In summary for your budget…

The most desirable S1 models around your budget are:

111s
Sport 135
Sport 160 (possibly out of budget now)
Sport 190 (will not be within budget)

The most desirable S2 models around your budget are:

111s
135
135r
111r (will not quite be within budget)

A guide to all the variations is here: http://www.hazelnet.org/elise/index.htm

Buy on condition rather than mileage. A low mile car could have been sat for 11 months a year with just an annual service and MOT done, a higher mile car could be running refreshed suspension, uprated radiator, tyres etc.

Plenty of information on SELOC if you have not joined already.

Do you mind me asking what Chim you have and why you're considering moving to an Elise?

I'm in exactly the same boat, why whatever your budget the one you find thats perfect is a £1k more!

My question is, is it better to buy now or and not use much or wait until march when id use it more?
