Had the car a week been recalled to potentially replace the brake master cylinder. Anyone know what the situation is? Been told not to drive it at all.

When we got it the car had a very soft and long brake pedal with no bite but that seems to have improved a bit.

Serious recall with the whole Elise range being affected. Very precise details available from Lotus. Serial numbers and build dates available. Advice is not to drive the car.

Cheers. Just got the letter through this morning. Also put an email through to Lotus about it asking for more information. Hopefully it won't mean disassembling the entire car to fix it.

He means the whole range which was in production at the time of the failure. It was only a short run of cars, I think.
