Hi all, I am having central locking problems on my S2 Exige, most likely culprit is the Central Door Locking module. Google suggests that a burnt-out relay is the issue, but the tiny relays used in the module are no longer available. (Probably because they break so often?)

I am having no luck trying to find a replacement module, they are on back order from Lotus and no one can give any idea of when they will be available. I wonder if anyone has thought of fitting a couple of bigger 5-pin relays instead of the tiny things that are used as standard? In my mind it's as simple as soldering some flying leads to the PCB, to some relay sockets, and then mounting them on the surface of the module itself. However, I don't want to cripple my car while I pull an irreplaceable electronic module to bits, only to discover that I don't know what I'm doing biggrin

Questions:
1) Does anyone have a working CDL they want to sell me?
2) Does anyone have a broken CDL they want to send me to experiment on?
3) Does the car still work without any CDL fitted, or do other important circuits (immobiliser?) go through this black box?

Thanks!

Search on Seloc a chap has just done a fix on the CDL by soldering some external relays onto the PCB. Looks pretty straight forward.
