Its that time of the year again to take my S2 for its MoT.

Each year I have to assist the tester on where to place his jacks when he wants to raise the rear axle but we never seem to find anywhere entirely satisfactory. Obviously, the official jacking points are hidden behind the panels.

What do other folks do? Take the panels off prior to the MoT?

The rear jacking point is at the rear of the tub just before it meets the centre undertray.

That's where they jack mine up. It will lift the front and rear at this point. I just hold down the front wheels whilst he wants to check rear wheels bearing etc and then hold down the rear wheels whilst he checks the fronts.

The MOT tester isn't allowed to remove any panels or covers for the MOT.

Has your Elise not got the blue stickers marking the jacking spots

It sure does have those blue stickers. But those jacking points are for lifting one side of the car are they not, and not to be used together to lift one or both ends.

One of the posts above suggests their MoT tester is happy to balance the car on just those two points and allows him to push down on the front so they can check the rear. If thats the case, I can't imagine too many testers being happy to do that.

No Specialists near you that could arrange MOT?

Silverstone have a good reputation but not sure what they are like in price. I'm told it's always worth a visit to Silverstone Lotus as they have some nice stuff in the showroom.

The jacking points allow you to lift corner, side or complete car.
