Is my gearbox on the way out ?

Im getting a chattering, noise, a bit like rattling a screw in an empty jam jar over 2500 revs but only in 5th.

Can anyone diagnose?

I got exactly that in my cerb - turned out to be the 'zorst was corroding internally and a piece of the baffle had split loose. Give the exhaust a bit of a wiggle/knock and see if you hear it.

Just a thought.
