Hi guys,
Has anyone removed all four front lights on a Elise S2? Thinking of getting the front nose resprayed as that is the only place that the car has any marks. The bodyshop have quoted a price with the lights already taken out, is it a big job?

Cheers

whya re you getting it resprayed? Are you selling it? If not...DONT! a) It will get chipped again and you'll be really worried having just shelled out for the respray and b) it aint like you see it when you're driving, and you actually have to get quite close to a car to spot even quite bad stonechip!

My advice - dont bother.

Oh, and no...I cant even work out how to get the bloody shrouds off to change a bulb!

Agreed

Was considering the same on mine but was quoted about a grand to get it done properly and armorfended. I'll get it done if and when it gets REALLY bad or if I decide to sell, but not before. Good polish and wax hides alot unless you've got spideysense!

Agreed!

At the end of the day its a low sports car and you could be forever trying to get the front looking good. I would spend the money on more beneficial things, but then your not me!

I'm surprised just how little mine is stonechipped actually. I do think after a respray it makes it a lot less prone to chipping, Thats the only reason I may ever think of doing it.

Thanks guys, know what you are saying. No i'm not looking to sell, only bought it last week. I had my S1 resprayed, and I never really had many chips after that as I don't tend to be following much . The reason I wanted to do it is that other than the stone chips the car is absolutely mint. Just like to get it perfect. To be honest I work in the motor industry and I have managed to get the front lower nose done (to just below the lights) for £60 cash. I realise that it may well get chipped, but for £60 can I go wrong? Even if I have to do it one a year its not the end of the world. Thanks for your advise though, really appreciated.
