Stack reset question

Having some ongoing minor idle issues, which seem to be ECU related. Having gone through the Stack reset procedure;
"The Stack will then wind both needles back to below the zero position, and the LCD will show the software revision number..."
(From the tech wiki.) Which software is this? Is it the ECU software number, something to do with the stack, or something else all together? Thanks for any answers...
