I have to confess from the outset that my knowledge of Lotus is limited, but I am looking to upgrade my trackway toy and I keep coming back to a 2 eleven.
Atoms appear to want to kill you at every stage, caterham are great but I am coming from a Megabusa Westfield so much of a muchness. I would prefer to have a shunt in a 2 eleven that in a Seven Type car. So looking at this example, really what I want to know is if anyone knows of any incident that might warrant a strip down and colour change to be honest. Feel free to PM me if there is any major negative comments as I hate bringing out the warts on a open forum.
Any help is appreciated, info on these engines also helpful. I assume they are dry sump and therefor handle slicks fine

Funnily I also had a Westfield Megablade before I moved onto the Lotus 211 following a very short spell
with a Scooby. I also had a caterham for a short time which puts me in a good position to compare cars.
I owned the westfield for 9 years and loved it, the noise was awesome and the running costs were virtually free of
charge compared to alot of cars. Still miss it now and wished I had kept it, saying all that the 2 eleven is on a
different level to 7 type cars, It is the best car I have ever driven bar none. Not just better then the westfield, caterham
but also many other cars including ferraris, porsche , nissan gtr etc. I just love driving it, the way it flows through
fast bends is just a joy, perfect steering, far more comfortable then a seven, more space inside and too me it looks
much better then a Atom (scaffolding on wheels) , caterfields (soo last season darling) !
There is no doubt that the 211 is probably one of the best drivers cars ever produced , apart from the gearbox which
can be improved with different oil and gear linkage. Only drawback is lack of weather protection , so you will be
checking the sky far more often.
Stephanie has pointed out that it has a accusump system, mine also has a fully baffled sump for added protection.
My car came with a set of slicks but I have not had a chance to try them yet.
Make sure you get some sort of armoufend to protect the car as the front is very prone to stone chips, maybe why
they had it resprayed.
I say go for it !

Thanks guys for the help and advice, tried to call them but their sales team were not available, try again tomorrow. I fully agree with the comments on the Megabusa, I bought it from a friend who upgraded to a 620R and wishes he had just increased the power in the Busa. Ride and handling way ahead of the Caterham. I still have not come to terms fully on selling the GT3 but with work slow on the horizon and the opportunity to shelve away some funds that could be partially routed to more trackways, then a more suited machine for the bigger European tracks does make sense.
