Bought an Exige S today with a view to doing a whole load of UK and European track days next year. I'm looking for like minded Lotus owners. Where's best to find them? smile

I'd say SELOC...

There's also TheLotusForums...

SELOC is the most active forum but there may be more local clubs with things going on closer to you. Where are you based?

Nice car btw smile

NYLOC would probably be best then and sometimes they meet up with NORLOG members in Lancs as well.

Good to meet the more local groups for the events they plan and normally there are monthly meets as well

For the trackdays Lotus on Track. Forum is quiet but they run the best days you can find with lots of European tracks on offer as well.

Great looking car
Depends what you are really after.
Best Club is nyloc. The website is quiet as its more of a proper club than just a forum. They meet on the 4th tuesday evening every month (except december) at the buckles inn A64 and its a good bunch of people. I go most months so if you do pop up introduce yourself (Im in the primer grey exige v6) and ill make sure I introduce you to a few people. They also arrange regular sunday drives, euro trips, trackdays, etc It has to be the best club near you.
Best forum is probably The Lotus Forum. Seloc probably has more posts but the people on TLF are nicer.
Ive only done one trackday this year in the v6 and that was earlier this month but i definitely have the bug now. I have abbeville booked for may 16, anglesey in march 15 and looking to do spa and oulton park too next year. Lotus on track are quite competitive price wise and in my very limited experience seem to be a decent outfit.

+1 I've been to Goodwood, Spa and Pembry with them, great prices and friendly people.

Thanks for the info gents smile

That sounds great Crouchydc. Typically Ive picked completely the wrong time of year to get involved if there is no meet in December but Ill be there in January. The car has been bought for track work but Im more than up for the more social events too.

Ill look at NYLOC and Lotus on Track. My plan was to go for the Platinum package with BAT but Ill see what Lotus on Track have to offer. It would be more fun to play with Lotus owners rather than the usual generic track day mix of cars.

Im trying to have the car prep finished by late December so I can get to Outlon Park on the 19th. We are playing with the brakes (pads and fluid), suspension, geometry, wheels, tyres and harnesses. smile

It would be good to see you at a nyloc event and there are a few nyloc members that are track regulars so im sure you will find a few like minded people.
Although Im not a track regular yet I intend to do as many as I can afford in 2016.
Out of interest will you be doing the geometry work etc yourself or do you use a particular garage, as id be interested to hear of local reputable garages that could help assist me with the set up with some of the mods i have planned too.

These seem to cover all bases regarding suspension setup, fairly local.

I'm using Mick Gardner Racing in Barnsley. They are a key Ohlins centre and designed the Ohlins for, and are suppliers to, Koenigsegg, McLaren, Ginetta, Ariel and Lotus, amongst others.

They have a real depth of knowledge and experience when it comes to Lotus's. smile

He has also started buying the ex development cars, I bought my car from them.

Who, Russ (MGR) or Cornering Force? The last time I had a car set up at Mick Gardner they had a BTCC technician (car designer rather than generic spanner monkey) there doing some of the work in conjunction with Russ (MGRs owner). They know their beans smile

Sorry, I meant mgr. A few people have recommended them now so next year when I start tracking the car a bit more I'll get the setup tuned a bit.

Good car. Drove one at Hethel 3 weeks ago with Lotus.

With all the electric aides switched off, it is the same as my Exige S1.

French tracks are great. Have you tried Donington in the UK? Perfect to learn and then push it.
