exige v6 owners?
Discussion
I ran mine as a daily driver for about 18 months, with lots of long journeys including two alpine trips. Eventually decided to use a more refined car for long commutes but for any other journey it's the must nuts!!
had a couple of silly problems but all sorted under warranty no problem...

just stopped video halfway to post.....HOLY st.
Yes but...the figures quoted at the end show a useful increase in performance, but not massively different, and when you watch the drag race the standard car is hardly being blown into the weeds. ` thought there would be a bigger improvement. As far as I am aware there is not charge cooler, and I guess that whilst the power increase is as quoted on the bench, in reality it is soon lost as heat builds...maybe I am talking nonsense? Anyhow, I believe they are developing a charge cooler...and a 500hp upgrade.

500 hp would be good, you then have super-car performance in a relative 'budget' sport-car.
but, can such engine handle that power without other internals?
how about the gearbox, is a upgraded clutch enough or...
It's getting a bit boring reading post from people who clearly do not know what they are talking about.but, can such engine handle that power without other internals?

The Exige does not require 500hp. It can barely use all its power as it is unless you are on track, certainly not on B roads and there is no requirement for it to have more power for A roads.
Agree that the Exige has got plenty of power the road until you have your mate with an Aventafor up your arse on a foreign road, where some more power could be used and it will put the power down on the right roads and conditions. Agree that it has got all the performance that could possibly be used on 99% of B roads.
On most tracks the main improvement or gain will be me with grippier tyres and suspension setting. Obviously more power would be a bonus on grand prix tracks with longer straights...and then there is the most important reason of all...pub bragging rights!

The drag race is with the EX430 not the EX460 mentioned above.zebra said:

500hp, of course you don't need it on the B-roads, but its sometimes handy on the highways like in Germany and or on the longer straights on some circuits :-) you canwin some time back that you loose in the corners ;-)

I do know a bit, I was in a Exige V6 when they came out, fantastic car, a bit grown up elise, it can handle

Wasting an Exige on the roads described is a failure to see the point of the car and experience its true character.500hp, of course you don't need it on the B-roads, but its sometimes handy on the highways like in Germany and or on the longer straights on some circuits :-) you canwin some time back that you loose in the corners ;-)
The KT460 is a lot different to the KT430 that is featured in the drag race video against a standard v6.
The 460 kit does include charge cooler mounted in the nose which could be expected to deliver a consistent delivery of those horses even in higher temperatures. It is a front clam off job to install the charge cooler.
The car in the 460 kit vid also has Komotec exhaust, Komotec modified gearing (closer ratio) and an LSD. I've been trying to price up the costs of getting mine to the same spec, not had confirmed costs yet but anticipate 10 - 15K. This is a pure guestimate based on some of the pricing that is on the Komotec site.
Looks like a proper proper weapon. My V6 Cup (substantially lighten than the regular V6) covers the ground at an astonishing rate across country (where conditions permit :-) ;-) .... ) and that is running 'only' 350bhp. God knows what it would be like with these upgrades!

Not much faster.Cross country via B-roads, the best modifications are brakes and driver training.
Just to calm you lot down a bit, my old Elise had 250bhp and was as fast as anything on the road. One Impreza owner said to me, after I overtook him with both of us flat out, 'What's in that??' I had 71bhp less than him but only 50% of the weight. 350 in these Exiges is pointless but also awesome. I don't think the Komotec kit is worth it given the difference. You'll end up chasing figures and, as many know on here, that rarely works out well , particularly for your bank account!!
