Hi All,

I'm looking for an Elise S1 steering column Shroud (upper and lower) as the ones I were told were in the box of parts that came with my half finished project purchase appear to have gone AWOL.

I've checked breakers (seemingly all of them!) with no luck, can only find a single top piece for sale online and checked on Seloc (have thus far had one sale fall through and another that was slightly too damaged).

On the off chance does anyone on here have the parts or know of an S1 being broken?

Part numbers if it helps are:

Lower shroud - A111V0383K
Upper shroud - B111V0059K

Cheers,

Jim

If you can't find a used one, Elise Shop will sell you a carbon fibre set for £200.

Quite a lot of money for two small bits of plastic though.

If money were no object there would probably be a lot of CF goodies in the car!

It's still a bit of a project and having (perhaps stupidly) done a S/C Honda conversion prior to getting the braking/handling sorted need to spend the money on that as it's currently a bit overpowered / underbraked!

Aren't they a Vauxhall part? I would look to experiment with a Cavalier part if one can be found cheaply. I admit I have not taken mine apart (yet) but it worked for me on the Griffith.

The column itself and the stalks are from a Vauxhall Corsa 'B' (1993-2000), so it's possible this is also the source of the shroud.

I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure the shroud isn't lifted from another car. It's a fairly distinctive shape, I think I'd have recognised it if I'd seen it on anything else. The fact that the S2 is different (despite having the same column) probably also implies it's Lotus specific; if they'd bought it as part of the column assembly they probably wouldn't have changed it.
