Better driving involvement JA!
But what about the feel of the buttons and switches, was the quality ZUPER or just MITTEL?
Silly German journalist did not review the cars balanced or thoroughly it seems.
Also I suspect the Lotus dealers will not have a launch party with good canopés.
Zo.... overall the 200kg heavier Porsches wins.

Great video. I am probably biased, but does the track not look wetter in the tree shadows? And is the track cold and overcast for the Lotus; cool and sunny for the Porsche?

don't know, I guess not, although the camera has a bit different mounting/view/cabin in the Lotus, so it could also look a bit different (a bit les lightfall in interior?)

Hmmm...so the Lotus has quicker initial acceleration times, shorter stopping distances, and was quicker in the slalom test, but somehow the Porsche was quicker? I am a Lotus fan, but can imagine the Porsche has better high speed stability so is probably better suited to the ring.

The Exige lap is one they did back in 2013. They didn't do a new one for the comparison video.

Little difference "downhill" to Breidscheid, then the power starts to tell on the long haul up to hohe acht. 2 amazing cars.

Can hardly believe that; did the Lotus people really get that right ?

Although Sport Auto is a little less biased/German orientated; in Autobild and Auto Motor und Sport (Sport Auto's parent magazine) foreign car manufacturers (their even naming them "import" these days) hardly ever win, or even get covered.

Having driven the GT4, but not the Exige V6 Cup thingy, I shouldn't comment. But I'd take the Lotus, because the GT4 has now turned into the rich-man's 'ner-ner I got one and you didn't' car... #justsaying

That is the standard Exige S on road tyres that have 205 width fronts vs the Cayman 265 front tyres that are cup 2's.....

Against the exige cup on trofeos its going to be the other way by a very considerable margin I reckon laugh

Erm unless I'm mistaking the Exige was on Trofeo tires! The GT4 also has comically long manual gear ratios, with a PDK box it would be even further ahead.

Apologies you're correct, reading the sport Auto article the exige was on Trofeo tyres (I think). The massive differential in tyre sizing must have a marked effect on lap times however as the cayman has approximately 25% more rubber on the ground in comparison to the Exige.

The Cayman really is an awesome piece of engineering however I feel there is much more performance (in terms of lap time) left on the Lotus table with regards to set up/geometry changes.

I would happily have either in my garage!

Trofeo tyres are faster than CUP 2's so even a bigger Exige fail to be slower in every section and every straight !

I await the Charged cool Exige.
