Hello folks,

I'm thinking of getting into an Exige or Elise.. What I really want is the Exige S V6, but alas prices are still too high for my budget (£30K Max really)

I'd like something quicker than a newish 1.6 Elise, and came across the Exige 270E for sale at Lotus Silverstone, this being the same car that was a development vehicle and press vehicle and is now for sale.

What do people think of this as a potential purchase. I worry it has been sitting around a long time and was outside at Lotus Silverstone when I saw it. I guess on the flip side it will be fully inspected and warranted when buying from there..

Funny old world, yesterday morning I got an email from an old colleague and good friend. No words in the body, but the subject line read "Google exige 270e. It's now mine. smile‏ "

Unique car, we're lunching tomorrow and I can't wait to hear where his stock of methanol is going to come from.

I fear one of our number tomorrow may consume more than the officially stated 31mpg over an hour!

So it's yours chucklebutty?

I must admit, I was very tempted - certainly a unique car and looked in great condition.

I had better keep saving the pennies for the V6 then!!!

No, it's Andrewthehat's. I've still got my original '98 Elise but feeling I need to be saving the pennies too!

I was looking for the same as you and considered these but picked up my Exige S last Thursday- it's something very special imo!
