Elise Cobra Alarm 8185

Hi,

Anyone had any problems with the factory fitted alarm system ??

Mine wouldn't fully arm and thought the drivers door was open, I got the constant tone when it tried to arm it, I traced it back to the interior light which, when in the off position closed the door switch circuits (the alarm runs off the same switches), when the light is in the "on" / "on when doors open" position the alarm arms with no problem.

The dealer will be fixing this but as the alarm wiring is integrated into the wiring loom in the factory I wonder if this is a factory fault or limited to a problem on my car ?

when was the car made - which year and variant.

mine only ever gives constant tone if i disarm and rearm the system in a few seconds.

other than that I have had no problems - I have the cobra factory fit too

It's new 2002, picked it up Wednesday (Elise Type 72).

PS Are these great cars ! . . . . . . sorry still can't get over actually owning one !

In your position i would build up a list of niggles to have sorted at the 1000m service

things like window fit, door adjustment that type of stuff -

Fantastic choice though
