So, I've got a weird rattle coming from the Elise, it's noticable when the radio is off and the car is stationary idling from inside the cockpit behind the firewall.

It isn't possible to hear from the engine bay, however you can hear it if you stick your ear against the passenger side air intake.

It isn't loud enough to hear when driving or with the radio on.

Anyone had anything similar?

So, annoyingly before I get the chance to look into the rattle we have yet more bad news to report.

Over the last few days I've noticed an almost hissing shhhh noise from the brake pedal when depressed. It almost sounds like air is being forced out when depressed.

I drove it to work this morning, when I got it the starter button just clicked, almost as if the battery was flat. A quick removal of the key and another try it fired up immediately as usual. I thought nothing of it and the car drove to work fine.

As I went to drive home tonight again, click, and again the second time it fired up as usual. However on starting its left the abs and engine management light on.

I chucked the code reader on it and it came up a throttle position issue. I've cleared the code and the car drive home fine, however the abs light is still on.

Help!! hehe

It's a Lotus, get a louder exhaust and all will be good!

Undertray, exhaust/exhaust heat shield, random thing under seats are the most likely culprit.
Leave the car idling and lay underneath the back pushing/whacking/pulling the exhaust and undertray to see if it stops smile
