Whether or not a new model comes out, what would you like to see changed if it did? Something major, or just minor changes, such as better bl00dy window-winder mechanisms (S1 driver here!)
Bigger engine? Bigger boot? Or, for my fellow big footed drivers, a slightly bigger space between the pedals?
What would you like changed/added/removed?

Central locking would be good, as long as the quality was better than the window winders. Elise central locking would go 'plop' when it was supposed to go 'plip'.

I'd like to see MkIII styling that reminds me of a Europa rather than a Mitsubishi Eclipse (i.e. nearer MkI than MkII, and yes I have a MkI)

A Honda or Toyota engine with 170-200hp and six speed gearbox (so you can have close ratio for track work and not be buzzy on long rides in overdrive 6th)

A roof that doesn't leak.

More of a range. maybe existing cheap powerplant as an entry point and a much more expensive system with a lot more power.

The ability to buy a stripped out car for track days, and also to add A/C some soundproofing, carpets etc for people who want to commute or drive the car every day.

However productizing a range of cars takes a lot more time and money. If Lotus only do one thing they should add a lot more power and go a bit upmarket in price.

Also the MkIII should do whatever it hs to do to meet US regulations, but not try to appeal to the stereotype american. Keep it basic and light. A/C is essential though, it gets too hot in the big target markets like California and heat from the front radiator comes in over the windscreen to make it worse.

I'm driving my car around California and getting a huge amount of attention everywhere I go

V6 - F1 style paddle box - Exige style removable hard roof that does not look like a bolt on - carbon body - Mclaren F1 style central steering with two passenger seats - Mclaren F1 style luggage compartment in front of rear wheel arch - transparent engine cover as per Ferrari 360 & Exige - Elise Mk1 style exhausts exiting from bodywork - I think that'll do. Mr Cringe pay attention !

Easy: the MkIII should be road leagal GT1 Elise priced reasonably. The car looks fantastic, sounds fantastic, and shifts.

ie more power = highest priority, simple back to basics concepts. Its what made the Elise such a good car.

A lot of you are getting away from the point of the Elise.Lotuses are built round a philosophy .
6 speed ,Central locking with plipper and V6 and the TT upgrade which would give it 260-280 bhp are ok
But Paddle boxes , spoilers and central driving seat would only be good on the track so i would prefer to see two models a track model -stripped out with no equipment with a hard top and lap timer and a Road model with carpets ,Equipment -A/C ,CD player , the bigger gearbox , central locking and the bigger supercharged engine with a soft top

HungryJim you really are talking utter smack now. Why the hell would you need a TT conversion if you had a V6 in there? Would you please be so kind as to divulge the philosophy behind the Elise as well? I'm not sure you understand it yourself.

Can some1 please tell me what a TT conversion is? I've only been on here about a month and I've read the phrases TT upgrade and TT conversion hundreds of times! What is it? Do I need one? Why is HungryJim obsessed with them? etc etc

Spooky, take a look at the TurboTechnics website: www.turbotechnics.com/

As for why hungryjim is so obsessed with them, who knows! Perhaps he owns the company?

TT upgrade is Turbo Technics
They supercharge the Elises Engine and it really brings up performance they do lots of upgrades for the K series they even do stuff for the MGF. The TT230 brings performance to 0-4.2 seconds and topspeed 140 mph .Recently i found out you can get the 190 elise and put the TT260 which can also go on the Exige and 340R which brings performance to 0-60 in 4.1 seconds and the topspeed is not shown.
I am really obsessed with it i think super chargers are a really good idea and worth it on an Elise

Yes, I've seen a program on this.. you have TT OCD. The only cure is to be in an TT Elise and drive it while the supercharger tears itself to bits and costs you a packet. Either that or have electrodes planted in your skull what connect up to a car battery.

Ah right. Think I'd better carry on paying my loan off before spending any more. It could be a bottomless pit this malarkey. Gawd, I only spend about a hundred quid a year on mi Ford Ka (MOT and service).
I'll stick to my standard car for a bit. Except I want a sports exhaust. And a shower cap. And those liddle plastic covers for the driving lamps. Et al et al.
