Suspension Refresh
Discussion
My S2 1.8 'S' has about 65k on it and I'm toying with the idea of refreshing the suspension. The dampers were done about 15k ago so it's bushes etc.
Can anyone recommend a specialist in the West Mids or Cheshire ?
Also, whats the view on the best option for bushes ? This is a road car and I'd like to keep the default ride \ handling balance which was lovely.

Martin has looked after my Elise from new.
What I like, is that he's the boss and hands on engineer with a reputation to look after.
I used to take my TVR's to a place, the boss there would give my car to a kid not long out of school.

You can get a refresh kit from seriously lotus for about £450 which includes all bushes, drop links, ball joints, nuts/bolts etc.
I'm having mine done next month, labour wise it's about £600 but that includes shot blasting/coating of the wishbones etc, along with a geo when it's finished.
I'm going to be going for the nitro street series I think, so looking ay about, £1800 all in.

That's the same number I got quoted, seems reasonable too.I'm having mine done next month, labour wise it's about £600 but that includes shot blasting/coating of the wishbones etc, along with a geo when it's finished.

Price doesnt seem too bad labour wise considering.
It really isnt a difficult job and well worth attempting at home over the winter.
I did a refresh on my VX220, a couple of years ago, its very easy to get suckered into replacing other items 'while you are there'. I ended up replacing the hubs, brake hoses, caster/camber shims, ARB inc. bushes, brake discs/pads, refreshed callipers, etc. The end result was well worth it as it drove like new!
