Hi.
I know from TVR shopping that this is fairly subjective, but I'd be interested to know that those in the know think this is worth...
- Elise Serles 1
- Grey
- One owner from new
- Warranted 25k
- Full history, some is dealer/known specialist, some is patchy and non-specialist, say 50/50.
Opinions appreciated!

Depending on condition, history and originality anything from £10-13kI know from TVR shopping that this is fairly subjective, but I'd be interested to know that those in the know think this is worth...

Elises are odd, their values are affected by things that have little bearing on most "normal" cars...
- When was the last suspension refresh, using what components? Depending on the conditions of the place it's been kept, they may be decidedly tired if they're original. There's little point in running an Elise on tired old suspension.
- What head gasket and associated components does it have? Even at 25k miles there's a good chance of it having gone; if it has, how long ago it last failed and how it was fixed will tell you a lot about the likelihood of it going again.
- What sort of condition is the paint in, if the answer is "perfect" when was it resprayed and why (it's highly unlikely that a 25k mile Elise will have perfect paint without a respray)?
- Is it still on the original radiator? The plastic end caps on the original radiator are prone to failure and I wouldn't be surprised if they get more brittle with age.
- What upgrades has it had? It's relatively unusual to find an early car with none.
- Does it have MMC brakes?
Personally I'd be wary of such a low mileage car because it's quite likely that many of the common niggles which plagued the early Elise haven't been fixed yet. It's probably going to be somewhere in the £11-13k range

Is that the one on auto trader??
Looks ok - not sure it's the dealers usual stock from the ad. As Kambites said there are things that need looking after that may not have been picked up on a low miler...
Tyres might have plenty of tread but could be knackered
Shocks will no doubt be Koni which would be worth changing
Clutch cable is worth checking too
Floor looks like it's had a bit of corrosion but nothing too bad

Sounds like you've found it. It does look out of place but it's a reputable local dealer.
Story goes that it was traded in at the local main dealer against a new version, and he bought it from there as its too old to retail through their netork. Assuming all the inevitable failure items have already failed and been properly repaired I'll probably be driving it home.
