Hiya,

Not a Lotus, more one of Lotus' inspirations (GTM Libra). However, as it's a similar weight and engine layout etc., figured better to ask here than the Rover section!

Need a new clutch kit (gearbox is being dropped end of next week - clutch engagement arm is seized, and it needs a bit of TLC) for my car - used as a daily driver on a 50-60 mile commute of mixed flowy A Roads and stop/start town driving.

The odd trackday, but not a main focus.

Car is running a 160bhp VVC K Series, and don't want to ruin the road driving by fitting a ludicrously aggressive 'motorsport' variety.

Any suggestions? Stick with standard? Lightly uprated jobby? Or sod it and go full fat?

Cheers,

Sam

I've never had a problem with the OEM clutch - it's light enough to be pleasant to use and it's designed to pull twice the weight so it's not exactly stressed.

A good quality OEM will be fine for your requirements-I've used LUK/Valeo replacements with no problems.

Cheers chaps, much appreciated.

I'll have a hunt around for decent prices, think I'll search by MGF instead of Elise!

I got mine from Euro Car Parts, you're welcome to use my old MGF Trophy reg-ET51 BXS.

I replaced mine and fitted either LUK or Valeo. They're OEM standard. I think it was £68 plus VAT from
GSF. That was 2008 mind. Regardless they're not a dear kit.

That will come in so useful - it's a monumental pain going to auto factors with a kit car registration!

That's the brakes and drive train sorted, now need to keep an eye out for a Metro reg for ancillaries.

Bear in mine that had AP front brakes, so you'll end up with 304mm discs if you use that reg biggrin
