Sticky Door Locks

Has anyone had this problem and no of a fix that does not include replacing the door locking barrels?

My key goes in fine, but the barrel wont always turn. Somedays it works fine, other days it just seems to get completely stuck.

I've tried lubricating the barrel through the key hole but no joy.

Its very embarrasing, people think I'm stealing the car coz it can take ages to open.

Help !!

Same problem with both my locks about a year ago, WD40'd them & they have been fine since...

I had the same problem - my local dealer got all locks replaced replaced under warranty.

Stoker.

I have had the problem once, could not lock the car and had to leave it open. It has only occurred once though and I wondered wether it was because of the severe cold weather.

My passenger side one is playing silly b'ggers at the moment too... WD40 this weekend should hopefully sort it.

WD40 might not be the best thing to sort this out. You need some graphite powder from a locksmith (about £3). Blow a bit of this into the lock and it will lubricate it without attracting gunge and grit that will only jam it up again in time.

Just wondering if this is a new problem or has it always been like it? I ask, because one of my keys was always a bit awkward (from new) and would only really work one way up. I used the bad one for about a year and it's okay now, so I guess it just had a slightly poor cut to it.

I have to agree with all the above. But use LOADS of WD40 or else they tend to stick again
