After some years of waiting, I'm going finally in a position to go hunting for a nice Exige, hopefully a S240 in the New Year. I wanted to float a couple of questions:

1) I have a friend who is currently looking for an older 911 (mid 80s Carrera/SC) but is suffering from what seems to be the start of a feeding frenzy in regard to 911 prices. Very ordinary 911s being advertised at silly prices.
Does anyone have a view on Exige prices? I have been following them for some time and they seem fairly static, not arousing the interest of speculators/investors. Do current prices seem realistic?

2) I've noticed that Evora prices are now alongside top end S2 Exige prices. Is an Evora a good long term bet or will it continue to slid down past the Exiges values. I favour the Exige for many reasons but the Evora is very tempting.

Thanks.

Late S2 prices seem very static indeed.
3.5 years ago I paid around £35k for a then year old 240S with sport and performance packs, in a very desirable premium colour.

2010MY cars are very similar prices today, if you can find one.

The S1's are where the premiums are, and always have been.
Can't see the prices of S2's going ballistic anytime soon.

You're not going to be loosing much on either really. The evora is still current and newer more poweful versions are in the pipeline. This will affect prices of the old ones especially the NA cars. This is of course true of the exige but the new version is a bigger and heavier car. I've heard one or two people say it's possible that the s2 is more of a sweet spot.

I have this exige in classifieds if you want to see the kind of thing less than 30k gets you.

Prices seem stable/firm. Expect a slight upturn early February/March. Supply is fairly limited but demand at this time of year is also fairly low. I originally thought that with V6 prices dipping, that there would be a knock on effect on Exige S2's but this doesn't seem to be happening, for various reasons.

Difficult call as to whether you should wait to have slightly more choice once the weather improves or take the plunge now and perhaps get a lower price.

Ownership is slightly less rewarding when the temperatures are negative. The first day's of spring are not so far away now. 4-6 weeks from now and we're through the worst of the cold weather. Desire to own one comes in with a bang once the sun comes out and the pleasure of owning one is huge. Enjoy your search.

Sold my 06, 220 S in 2010 for £21k, so it looks like they have gone up £4-5k since then? Can't see them ever being worth much less than £15-18k tbh, but I doubt they will go stupidly high like knackered old A/C 911's?

Lol, tell me about it!!

Add in the £15k my Cayman has lost and I am about £40k adrift, over the course of 3 cars?

But, as they say, there are no pockets in a shroud and all that?

Don't think about it. Just think of the pleasure. When you pop your clogs the moneys no good anyway. Has to be spent on something. From experience, my ex wife and ex girlfriends cost me more. Not certain which turns out to be the better option. biggrin women or cars. Can't really do with out either but there you go.
