Gearbox oil for elise s1
Discussion
I have a K series S2 and something tells me it is part of the 54k mile service.
Mine has done nearly 70k now and the gearbox oil has been changed twice as I'm pretty cautious. The Rover recommendation is MTF94 however last time, I used Millers NanoTech and the difference was incredible!
Good luck

In what way? thinking of changing mine if it helps the shiftMine has done nearly 70k now and the gearbox oil has been changed twice as I'm pretty cautious. The Rover recommendation is MTF94 however last time, I used Millers NanoTech and the difference was incredible!

I changed mine a few years ago (S1 111s) and it made a difference. I just bought what ever the recommended oil was, nothing fancy. I think it ended up costing about £20.
Make sure you have a nozzle off of a tube of silicone or something like that and a length of hose pipe/tubing so that you can fill it up again easily. You won't be able to get a funnel into the filling hole and you don't want to drop the oil out and then find you can't get it back in again!
I think the service notes mention that the gearbox is "filled for life"

I think you are right about this filled for life guidance for the s1. But was wondering whether people actualy follow it.Make sure you have a nozzle off of a tube of silicone or something like that and a length of hose pipe/tubing so that you can fill it up again easily.
