help ref central locking on new s3
Discussion
Hi all
Just some advice please
Picked. Up my new s3 on Saturday
It's fantastic even up to 4000 rpm
Done 250 miles already
But the doors only lock with the. Key
I've. Checked the manual they say it's. Got central locking. Also when locked with the key the door pin stays. Up
Is this normal

Doors should lock/unlock with your key. (not in the lock if thats the question)
You have two buttons on the key. One locks, sets alarm (Lotus button), the other unlocks and disables.
Unlocking both doors requires two presses on the second button. locking should be one press Lotus.
Enjoy your car. 250 miles, not even trying!!

On my Exige the door pins stay up when you lock the doors with the key only so I suspect it's the same for the Elise. Congrats on your purchase.
Yep, assume it's the same. If you 'lock' with the key in the door all it's actually doing is disabling the door push (not activating the alarm etc). Useful on a ferry to secure the doors with out alarm.Normal central locking, alarm etc always with the 'plipper'.
