Oh well looks like my 111r is going, just waiting for money to be paid in.

Haven't been using it much the last few years and I've had a decent (I think) offer for it.

So its time to say goodbye after 6 years which is the longest I've ever kept a car. Must say its been the hardest car to part with as well. Really will miss it, but sometimes the head needs to over rule the heart. 2k miles per year is not justifiable and its become a bit of a garage queen.

Wonder if I'll ever get another, time will tell.

Thanks to all for advice and chat on PH and Seloc.

Why not get a smaller sportscar for fun, the 500 isn't exactly a brilliant on rear room...

MK3 MR2?

Or an mx5? lol

After owning an Elise for so long, I really don't think another rear wheel drive 2 seater is ever gonna compare.

The 500 may only have a small rear seat, but we have a 5 yr old, for that, its perfect. Also doesn't depreciate much, I've always loved small hot hatches. I live in London so the 500 ticks all the boxes. Plus selling both cars will bring in close to £25k, so why not spend the money on something nicer, newer and reliable.
Quite a few reasons. I think the 500 will get much more use than the Elise.

As for the golf, good all rounder. Big enough & comfortable enough for the odd journey outta town. Good mpg, fun to drive, reliable, wont loose too much on it and the Mrs is a bit of a badge queen. She already saying VW no where near BMW. But hey, she'll come around.

Mk3 mr2, is a £3k car I would just buy for the summer as a 3rd car to wind the Mrs up a bit.

We have to be PH about these things

That makes sense. If you have a small child the seats should be ok! For anyone else they might as well not be there...

I like the Abarths a lot, they sound great and everyone I've heard speak about them found them great fun. Perfect city car given how easy to drive they are.

I thought you might have midengine withdrawal symptoms so though the MR2 was a apt suggestion given they get a lot of praise even from elise owners!

Good luck
