Trying to get quotes for a variety of cars, from stock Exige S to 300S and beyond (400hp Audi). Not having much luck with my old favourite Adrian Flux. Can anyone suggest a good company to try?

It depends hugely on your exact circumstances, I've always found the mainstream companies cheapest for my standard S2 111S (currently paying about 200 quid a year with Admiral). Obviously they wont cover you for track days and things in a standard policy.

True have been quoted around £500 for a 2009 Exige S (stock) which is higher than I'd like being as my old Tamora was 220 and my Radical was £160!! biggrin

As he said. But: Get yourself on seloc, both one answer and henderson are in there, both with very good reviews.
I'm using HT for 3 cars, stef @ one answer came up slightly cheaper last time but I'm too lazy to swap all over.
Cheers

Thanks guys, I'll try the two recommended tomorrow. Best quotes so far are Sky Insurance at 550 for stock and 800 for 300SC/engine swapped. Best quotes on Comparethemeerkat though have been 440 with Admiral for stock or 1281 for the Audi engined car.

I'd sincerely hope that at 36 with 10 years NCD in a good area I'm not going to be paying much more than 500 regardless of tune!

I've always done well on the comparison sites, ie, current insurer sent a renewal quote through post for £303, already did a search and have it at £242 so far, renewal is in July.

12yrs NCB
Fully Comp
Breakdown
Courtesy car
£250 excess
Legal
48yrs old

Edit to add:

Now at £209 same details with Hasting Direct.

That is pretty good indeed, problem comes when you're looking at the engine swapped cars. Compare the market jumped by 800 quid ish.

Good to talk today Marksmile

As a general rule of thumb, the comparison sites will always be cheaper, but when it comes to track days, agreed value and speaking to someone who knows about your car, understands your requirements and will go that extra mile. A broker usually offers the best overall cover and service. Even if you do pay more.

Refreshing to say the least that a broker is so knowledgeable about the cars in question and also a genuine enthusiast.

1 Answer wouldn't even quote me because I've not owned a Lotus or similar before frown

If you want trackday cover included then I would recommend REIS, if it's the cheapest then I would say Adrian Flux (always been the best for me)...
