Does anyone know what happened to the different race chassis?

I know there was one in the original GT90's races at Silverstone in about 2007, one of the Frank Muller cars and there was one for sale in the USA in green and yellow a few years back as well but finding out about the whereabouts of the remaining chassis seems to be impossible.

Any ideas?

There was a road going GT1 at the Goodwood Festival of speed a few years ago. Guess it might have been 2005-6 ish. It was parked in the supercar paddock. I bet you could find out from a brochure or similar who that belonged to.

Or call Lotus. They may keep a record. Although I suspect they would not openly share owner details.

AFAIK, there are 6 race cars and 1 road car...

last I saw, 2 were in Asia, 2 in the US, and the other 2 in Germany/Holland?

the road car is in the UK.

Not seen one out for years, some got pretty butchered with engine changes etc...

Know a bit about the road going gt1. Used to be blue and then was sprayed grey or the other way round if not. If it's still the long term owner it is Graham Morris. Certainly was a few years ago when I saw his son and asked him if they still owned it and when he told me about the colour change.

Only ever saw it once, he got dropped off at school in it around 97/98! Caused a commotion, shame I was too young then to know what it actually was; other than it clearly looking crazy!

Did a bit of digging.

One of the Thai sponsored cars pictured here.

http://www.seven-passion.com/Lotuscars/elise-gt1-t...

Was for sale by Carugati in Switzerland in 2012, probably still there maybe?

Same guy appears to have seen one of the Franck Muller cars too

http://www.seven-passion.com/Lotuscars/elise-gt1-f...

Fabien Giroix ran a Franck Muller car in the GT90's series way back when, could very well be the same car though it appears to be in a bit of a state here.

Pistonheads themselves had this story from 2002, appears to be one of the GBF cars because the front end is different to normal.

One of the Elise GT1 race cars is in the midlands undergoing restoration.......

The Elise GT1 race car that was converted to the run the viper engine (?)is at a kart track in Holland along with an Esprit GT1 show car.

A friend of mine has the only other Esprit GT1 race car that survives (the other race car is in Japan we believe in a private collection) and is slowly restoring it to full running condition, although this requires alot of hard work and cash!
We displayed the car at Paul Richad last October at the Dix Milles/BPR reunion, which is where we met the UK based Elise GT1 owner.

Cheers for the info Steve. So glad to hear one of them is being restored at least, any ideas where the car was before the current owner?

I know the one in Mike Hezemans kart place is one of the Bitter GT1's, I've no idea if they were existing Elise GT1 chassis converted or new chassis though?

EDIT - According to Wikipedia they were two Elise GT1 chassis so that means 4 still exist.

One in the Midlands, two in France/Switzerland based on that link I posted, one somewhere else (perhaps the green/yellow one that appears for sale in the UK occasionally)?

I wonder if the yellow/black Franck Muller car in the link is the one Fabien Giroix raced in the original GT90's race at Silverstone in 2007.

Believe the midlands based car came from America.
The Hezemans/Bitter car was based on an extended 'Racing/Works' Elise GT1 - a former team colleague of mine did the conversion after the race team folded.... frown
