I've posted this on SELOC too, so apologies if you've already seen this!

I'm quite tempted to upgrade the audio system in my 111S. I know it's never going to be fantastic, considering the small size of the interior, but I was hoping for a bit of extra bass!

The first question is, does anyone know what the standard spec speakers were for the MY02 111S? I seem to have some Pioneer Kevlar speakers in the front, and some Infinity Reference in the rear. Are these standard fit?

I'm looking for a discreet subwoofer to fit in the passenger foot well, as it's a bit busy behind my seats with harness bars n' stuff! From other threads, it looks as though the Alpine SWT-1600 was the subwoofer of choice, but it's no longer available. What do people use now? I've found two that might fit the bill ...

SWE-1200: http://www.alpine.co.uk/p/Products/powered-subwoof...
SWE-12S4: http://www.alpine.co.uk/p/Products/boxed-subwoofer...

Also, I'm tempted by a large touchscreen head unit, which will allow me to control my iPod. The only thing I'm concerned about is, will the mechanism clear the overhang of the dashboard, when it's installed? Is it possible to mount the headunit further out of the housing, so the screen clears the dash?

Thinking of one of these - Super chavvy, I know! biggrin

Any thoughts, or recommendations welcome! Cheers! thumbup

Are you going to drive around with the roof off and music blaring out? Have you thought of a Corsa? biggrin

The 2bular exhausts are a very popular audio upgrade - website

I already have a Hayward and Scott custom exhaust with straight through pipe ... smile I think I know what I'm after now though!

Nooo, think of the weight! You'll lose 20BHP carrying all that ste around! You won't hear the true values anyway. Save your dosh, buy new boots for it or on upgrades.

Just my thoughts.

Haha! It's getting new AD07's next month anyway, and I'm at the point where any other upgrades aren't worth it (either HP-wise, or talent-wise). smile

I have installed four new focal component speakers in the standard locations in my 111r along with a £100 sony headunit. The difference in sq and volume is quite stark even without an ampbiggrin I also have a 2bular for hitting the really high notes!

If you don't mind me asking, which model of Focal speakers and how much were they? Did they drop in without much work?
