Best place to sell my S1

It's with a heavy heart that I have now decided to sell my Elise. It's been a fun 12 years but it's just not getting used any more and just going to spoil if left standing.

So I was wondering where the best place to sell it would be. Where have any recent sellers bought/sold their Elises?

Obviously I'll create an add on here but I was wondering if Ebay would be a good idea (it's where I initially bought it from). Not so sure Autotrader is the best place to advertise this type of car.

I sold my S2 111S via PH in June this year. I had 4 replies in about a month, 2 of which came to look at the car and one of those bought it.

I was going to advertise on Auto Trader / Ebay Classifieds, but thought I'd give the free methods a go first.

I also put in on MLOC, SELOC and the Lotus Forums but didn't have any replies there.

Probably a number of other forums but your list will cover the most common and should cover the majority of Lotus enthusiasts

I just sold my vx220 turbo last weekend. It was advertised on pistonheads, seloc, vx forum (not applicable to you) and eBay.

Pistonheads by far gave the most responses, and generally sensible queries with the odd trader wanting it for peanuts. Other than that it was tons of px offers.
Seloc - no response, though it's a vx so not that surprising.
Vx forum - a few enquiries, all of which sensible but I guess it's a more focused audience (as seloc would be for your elise)
EBay - mainly interest from Europe, though in a month of advert it only got a few questions. Mainly crap offers or px.

PH won by miles really - and it was free!

Something has happened since I last sold a car. Not a single nigerian scammer or "I'm overseas and will PayPal the full amount" email. Amazing!!

Well crikey that was quick. I advertised it on Sunday afternoon and it's gone!! (maybe I should have asked for more!!)
