Evening all. I was posting on here looking for advice regarding the alarm/immobiliser on my Elise and the car refusing to start some weeks back. All advice was great but what the garage reported the problem to be was the stack of wires in the front near the battery that, on the underside where you couldn't see to begin with, had rubbed and chafed against the chassis and worn through.

Admittedly all this was found and mended without me seeing as I was away on holiday but thought I'd post it to let you know - partly as thanks for the advice given and in case one person goes out and checks the same thing and prevents their car catching fire as they said it may have done if left a lot longer.

odd?

there are no wires under the battery? (only one close is the battery ground wire)

It doesn't say under the battery, just "wires in the front near the battery". The fuse box is near the battery with a big bundle of wires going in to it.

I'll elaborate when I get it back and can have a look, I was on holiday so my brother volunteered to pick it up and look after it.
