For several months now I've been casually perusing various classifieds to get a feel for S2 prices and availability. Over this time I've become familiar with a few cars that seem to keep cropping up - one such vehicle being BX51 YOK - a silver Oxford based 26k mile 16v.

Some months ago the car appeared on ebay for £10k, surprisingly receiving no bids even though it appeared to be a good price and was relisted several times.

Then more recently it popped up on Autotrader for £9k, listed as Cat D.

I assumed that an unscrupulous private seller had had no luck attempting to quietly shift his written-off vehicle on ebay, given up and passed it onto a trader to get rid of (who has since advertised it more honestly).

However the same car has apparently been relisted on ebay and is currently standing at a bid of nearly £14k!

I'm not sure if the ebay ad is listed by the same seller as it was originally, but something definitely stinks - it seems pretty obvious that the latest ebay ad is a scam.

I'd advise anyone interested in the car (from either "seller") to tread extremely cautiously...

Slightly worrying indeed. Think someones going to be extremely happy if it indeed sells at that price, and somebody is going to get more than a nasty shock when they realise what that they've bought. Get the word out.

That's top money for a long tail S2 regardless of its history!

Report it to e- bay if the seller is withholding the fact it's cat D

High bids cancelled though so back at about £8k which is more realistic.
