Hi, my soft top is a long way past it's best, the stitching is falling apart, the front plastic is broken, it has stains on the underside and bits of fluff come off everywhere when I store it in the boot. I think it's well beyond a refurb.

I'm also pretty cheesed off with the leaks from the front end of the windows.

Has anyone bought an Elise Parts replacement? What's the quality like and does it fix/reduce the leaks?

Cheers

Leaks are more likely to be from the seals - nothing to do with the roof. If there's a gap between seal and window, the roof can't do anything about it, water is still going to drip in.

EP roof is very good, well worth the money. Mine still looks like new 6 years later.

Just replaced mine about 3 weeks ago. The previous roof used to leak badly round the A piller and no adjustment of the window was going to close the gap (the bit which wraps round the spar didn't appear to come forwards far enough and left a large gap) and then the leading edge split apart whilst on the M4.

New roof looks excellent, fits well and is completely leak free. A slight adjustment of the window should also ensure an even better fit and close the slight gap that still exists.

Interesting, thanks. That comment about the gap sounds like mine - the windows fit fine along the rest of the edge, but the material on the side bars does not reach the front and there is a gap there I could almost put my finger through!

Another vote for the Elise Parts hood - replaced mine about three years ago and still looks as good as new.
Incidentally your current hood sounds a lot like my original one was, loose stitching at the leading edge etc. Had been on my 'list of things to do' for a while when it decided to leave the car at about 100mph along the main straight at a local track day. By the time I got pulled over into the pits it was shreaded! Luckily no body work damage as the rear retaining clips had stayed on the car.
Think about the replacement sooner rather than later .....

Mine had also been on the things I should do list when it started to come apart. Then when I went to order a new one Elise Parts didn't have any black ones in stock.

Eeeek, guess I'd better move it up on the to-do list then!

Thanks for the replies, I bought one and it looks excellent. It's a tight fit right now but looks very well made and fits a lot better at the front corners. I doubt it'll be totally waterproof but it should be a worthwhile improvement.
