Can't seem to find a set of locking wheel nuts that have the spinning collar in S1 fitment.

Been using McGard Ultra on other cars but as far as I can see, they don't seem to do a set to fit an Elise.

What locking nuts are you all using?

I've owned three different elises/exiges since 2006 and one of the first mods I tend to make is to remove the locking wheel nuts/bolts.

The wheel nut keys are inevitably made of cheese and the tyres get changed every 6 months (or sooner) and easily get damaged. I'm happier running the small risk that someone has the wheels away, than the much larger risk that the wheel nit key breaks halfway through a wheel change the day before a trackday...

Those spinning nut covers are a pain, and not at all difficult to defeat anyway. When my locking key broke I simply banged a standard socket over the top of the locking nut and removed it without any hassle. Any potential thief could do the same.

Am I right in thinking these are the ones for the job? The wheels are Compomotive MO.

M12 x 1.5, 37mm length, cone seat.

I don't know anybody who keeps the locking nuts on an S1 - they're a lot of trouble, and they're not worth the effort.

In a decade of keeping an eye on what's going on in the Lotus world I've never read about any wheels getting nicked - there are very very few cars that they'll fit (especially considering the different sizes front/rear).

Seriously, not worth the hassle.

True. It is a small price to pay though for a bit of added peace of mind. Any idea on the correct length?

Listen to the advice being given and ditch the locking wheel nuts. I too thought it was better to have them - until the 'key' got stripped and I was stuck with a flat tyre and no way of getting the wheel off on a bank holiday with no where open for 3 days. Worst thing is if you know what you're doing even the locking nut can be removed in seconds so has no security benefit.
