Evening all. I've started a few threads over this as basically, its been one problem after another for the last month. 99T S1 Elise, and up until about 5 weeks ago, all was good with the world...

1. Lent car to brother to use as daily for a week and a bit as his was bust. Returned on dads birthday.
2. Brake lights came on of own accord. Ran battery flat a few times. Solved when we found the brake light switch under front bonnet.
3. Got car started via jump leads off mums Astra. Turned it off. Car steadfastly refused to start again. Hasn't started since.
4. Everything seemingly correct in terms of lights flashing when buttons on fob pressed.
5. Guy from local garage changed battery in fob. Lights now will not flash and fob appears dead.
6. Alarm guy that Paul Matty use came out and bypassed the alarm. Checked battery. Ok apparently.
7. No power now getting to starter motor.

Any help appreciated!?!?

I would suggest posting over on SELOC, you will get lots of advice.

The brake light problem is well known, as the brake pedal drops a little, the switch turns the lights on and drains the battery, TADTS :-)

Try jumpstarting it again. My money is on battery, even if it's "tested" okay.

The 5as has got buggered when the alarm was messed with.

It will need to be rematched to the ecu and then disabled.

Your not the first to be stuffed like this.

If I recall there is a note in the manual about this, and I *think* that you can reset them your self.

Jump leads to another car to get leccy, then re-pair the fob with the car to mobilise, then jump start or use an alternative battery.

(replacing the fob battery caught me out once too, lol)

Doe you have this type of key fob?

I'd be looking at the battery first. If it's been run flat a few times, it could well be b*ll*cksed. If the car doesn't respond to the fob, it may need to be paired again using the little code key. Try putting the code key on the contact on the steering column. If the immobiliser light goes out, try and start it. If all is well, follow the procedure in the manual to pair the transmitters.
