Does anyone know where I could hire a Lotus Elise S1 for a week / long weekend please? I am based in Shropshire and would love to see what an Elise would be like to live with for a week.

Many thanks in advance.

Ha ha, thanks for that!

I have googled it and found a couple of places. I didnt know if there was anywhere closer to me or that could come recommended by another user based on personal experiences.

I had a look myself a while ago, and came to the conclusion that for any meaningful test period it'd be cheaper to buy one and sell it on if you didn't get on with it.

A lot of companies seem to restrict the mileage too which is a bit gash..

This ^^ (just don't sell it as you'll end up buying another one)

Pah... The world would be a boring place if we kept them for 10 years +.

Not if you regret selling them

Thats true. I only regret selling it because it was a pleasure to own/drive but 33k in 18 months was alot of miles & I had to make the decision to sell whilst it was still worth something.. I am now happy with what I currently have.

Thanks all for the feedback. Unfortunately I dont currently have the funds to buy so this was something I was going to do to 'scratch the itch'.

For anyone else who might also be interested, the cost for 5 days, 2 drivers with clean licenses is approx £500 for an S1 Elise.

Have decided to keep those pennies in the bank until the time is right and then as you have said, just buy one!

Many thanks.
