Help with Elise 111S clutch / engine bangs
Discussion
Hi,
I've recently bought a 2003 Elise 111S with 50k on the clock and am still learning about them.
Have done about 500 miles in it now all perfect and all of a sudden it felt like I was hitting a pot-hole when ever I let the clutch out.
Took me a while to realise it wasn't pot-holes and related to gear changing.
Just retried it and it is when ever changing up releasing the clutch to engage the new gear it bangs through the car from driver side rear like a big pot-hole - also a jangling sound comes along with it.
Any ideas on this? My google skills and researching have let me down, guessing I've still to learn the key words...
Thanks in advance,
Phil

Just for closure on this topic in case anyone else has the same problem and comes across this on search
It ended up being the drivers side engine mount had come loose - the bolts that secure the mount to the engine actually thread into the engine block rather than having nuts to secure them. Engine lifted back up and bolts secured and torqued properly cured the problem.
If you can rock the engine back and forth and it rotates around the passenger side of the engine then very likely the same thing.
Thanks,
Phil
