This is probably something really simple but I can't find it in the handbook anywhere!

My cluster is showing the temp in Fahrenheit rather than Celsius, any idea how to change it back? What combo of pushes on the trip meter button swaps it around?

Sorry if I'm being dumb.

Car is 2008 Exige with the black dialled instrument cluster.

It was the same with mine, very annoying. It just needs the ecu reconfiguring, 15 mins at a lotus dealer should sort it out.

Uh oh, don't tell me that, just driven 2 hours back from the dealers today after service, that would explain it.

Can't face going back there just for that, is that really the only way? If it is, I'll have to live with it being in the wrong format for a year and remember the key temps to watch out for (i'm not too good at maths on the fly while driving)

Thanks for the help though, was driving me crazy. Just out of interest does that mean that they must have re-set the ecu and it switches to oF by default?

When I got mine done they said it is set to F for the US market and they needed to alter it with the vin number for the uk market, takes about 10 -15 mins to do apparently.

Yes I didn't like trying to work out the temps while driving either.

I see your in Essex, there are a few dealers / specialists close to you who may be able to do it

Just to help
71c = 160f
89c = 192f approx normal driving temp
100c = 212f
110c = 230f

You're a star for that, i'm keeping a mental note of those.

Only reason why I didn't want to take it to another dealer is they'll charge me an hours labour for someone else's mistake which doesn't sit right with me, it's not the money its the principle.

Makes me feel a little better that it's not just happened to me though (which is usually the case)

It will have come from the factory like it and the previous owners wont have been bothered to change it, I know what your saying but half and hours labour will be £30

I've got the same on my car and it turns out I've actually got the US-spec dash.

Check the manual, you've possibly got the same.

What's the difference between UK and US spec? Interested to know if the ECU map would be different from an emissions point of view as well i.e. could the US version offer slight differences in performance!

From what i've read the generic map Lotus put in the module can cause a 10 BHP difference from one car to the next! The same could apply to the maps for different markets.

The only difference I could see was the position / appearance of some of the indicator lights.

I've no idea if there is any performance difference, I doubt it. smile
