Hi All,

well my baby's service is coming up (Julyish)... MOT and Tax due end of June too ouch...
So I send off my email to B&C asking for a price for an MOT and Service (figure in for a penny n all that...).

I was astounded...
Service cost: £360 (inc vat)
MOT: £54.85

Over £400 for a service and MOT???

I emailed Specialised Paintwork and their quote for a service was much better...

£159+vat (£190.80) for the service, excellent... definitely going there then..
then...

"MOT is £54.00 plus £45.00 + VAT waiting time to take it to the MOT station...." WTF !!!!?

I asked my nephew at his little village independant after sending him the service schedule from the Seloc Wiki page he says...

£30.00 for the MOT
about £90.00 for the service....

I'm thinking words like "Emperor" and "new clothes"... any reason why this 10 year old Elise should have the same work done on it for twice the price ??? Go on justify it to me!!! :-)

Make sure they know how to jack it up properly.

You could service it yourself for free.

What service did you ask them to quote? Sounds like they've given you the price of a C service (without belts).
The A service should be the same price at any Lotus place - you've read the SELOC wiki, so you have the info already.

I'd be taking it for an MOT at a local place that just does MOTs; one that doesn't charge the full 50-odd quid either.

Speak to Stef at Analogue Automotive in Petersfield(just off the A3)01730 892220 - new Lotus specialist, service and MOT costs are very competitive. Highly recommended smile
