Anyone else done this? I went 111R (2 years) to GT3 (for 6 years) and back to Lotus (Exige V6) for the fun factor and go-cart type feel.

Hi there, just replied in your other thread. The Exige (for me) is more involving and more fun and yes, I did take the GT3 on track and it was great.

I ordered early April, with a August build slot, but there is a large backlog, so there have been delays. I didn't want the cup, as 95% of my driving will be on road, so better NVH appeals, I've gone for premium sport and race pack, so as a track car, it's on it out of the box, check out the video reviews on YouTube.

Am considering it myself.

Very hard decision though!

Lotus pros:
- nimble, easy to drive harder.
- more exploitable on the road
- very low running costs and depreciation

Porsche pros:
- performance
- quality of components - engine, gear shift etc
- doesn't leak and everything 'just works'
- creature comforts

noooo! Your GT3 is about the best I have ever seen. I'm sure you would miss it if you were to change... I also have the V6 Exige 'itch' to scratch but a GT3 will be coming first!

Kind of you to say so. I've been considering a swap for a year now and it's yet to happen which says how good a GT3 is as a weekend car. I'll always want another another Lotus and can't afford theee cars-so the swap back will come one day. It'll be for a nice Exige S or 260Cup though. The new Exige doesn't appeal.

I have to say, I feel a palpable sense of joy at the implication that Lotus has more orders than it can manage. Green shoots of recovery?
