Today my wiper stopped mid-sweep. The motor runs, the spindle turns but there is no movement and the wiper is "floppy" i.e. I can move it manually by hand.

Tightened the bolt, but I think the 'teeth' around the hole on the metal base of the blade are worn. Anyone come across this before?

Help appreciated.

Try removing the wiper as many of the drive shafts are a splined steel arrangement. The wiper arm will typically be a softer alloy, use a wire brush to clean the alloy out of the splines then refit the wiper arm. If the wiper arm has a taper bore, tightening the arm up should ensure a reasonable bite. Not perfect but should give you time to get another arm ordered up.
