Cheapest used S2?

What is the cheapest price you've seen an S2 for sale?

According to Parkers, www.parkers.co.uk for a used 'X' reg standard model, not RT or ST with 10k miles it should be around:

Valuation for: Lotus Elise 2d Convertible

£23170 = Original Price
£19230 = A1
£18530 = Good
£15960 = Fair
£16940 = Trade

See the site for assumptions for A1/Good/Fair etc...

Are these values accurate?

am hoping not as I'm selling mine in a month!! These values look very low - the cheapest I've seen advertised from a dealer for sale is £ 22,950. More importantly there dont seem to be many about - None privately in autocar or top marques this week. do u think prices are affected that much by time of year any more?

Billb, the trade-in prices are pretty accurate. Remember you won't get anything for the any extras you've specified on the car. Expect to see the value of the £3k touring/race-tech pack to disappear.

As such you are left with the depreciation of the basic 23k car. The value of a 3 year car is approx 56% of the original purchase value minus options. Considering the heaviest depreciation is incurred within the first 12 months it's not unreasonable to assume a loss of 5k off the £23k base price. So £18k-£17k is a fair deal.

I'm looking at a new car ATM. I can get a new VX220 from Trade sales for 19ish . There are S2's about but mostly for the price of a new one. I haven't seen anything below 20k at all.

whats the highest miledge s2 u've seen? I've been looking to compare with mine - 16k miles - but no-one seems to have done that many - does anyone use their cars?!?! I'm off round the world so will be selling it but not until august - wondering if leaving that late in the "summer" will affect the price

Probably not, but any dealer is going to want to make 10% on any car so it's what you'd get if you trade one in.

I've not seen that many advertised. There are a few around for 20 to 21.5.

Anyway. taking a test drive on saturday hopefully it will be more fun than the Audi S3 I drove the other day.

northampton - black s2 with blacks wheels and black interior ( sports tourer ) - The idea was to create a stealth car to avoid police radar! am goin round the world first week in sept so reluctantly have to sell it

re: prices...seeing as the I have the second car delivered in the country and it's a 'Y' reg I reckon Parkers are a bit out maybe....? can you get an 'X' reg?

cr.....may well go and upgrade to the official new 111s...off to test drive one in a week or so...If I do I will sell mine (would have part-exed it)....St Albans, Ice Blue, Racetech...just to bear in mind!

Have to agree with Nightmare, mines chassis 219, May '01 so a Y reg. I think only the press and the odd demo cars were X reg.

Hmm.

Ardent red is nice(no chance of a 2nd hand there)
Laser Blue , Ruby Red, Calypso Red, Dark blue(forget the name), Silver, Black, Yellow/Mustard Yellow. In that order.

No greens/light blues/whites/oranges..

Thats about it...

trying to arange finances ATM so no rush. The Longer I wait the more 2nd handers there will be.. hopefully!
