Does anyone know if the Exige S2 had folding wing mirrors? I'm trying to work out how wide the car is if you fold them (or how wide it is, if you can't fold them, with them extended!):

Thanks!

They don't fold.

Depending on how you have them set the overall width across the mirrors is around 1.86m.

Will that fit in a single garage? I think they're typically 1.9X something.... Do you know anyone who fits one in a single garage?

Obviously it would depend on the dimensions of the specific garage. I don't know what a standard garage size is, if there is such a thing.

My experience of my Elise was that it was very compact compared to most cars, and could be driven into some very tight spots. The biggest problem was getting in and out if you couldn't open the door fully.

Actually they can - not mine but I've helped him load it in the trailer in the past.

As for getting in and out in the garage, I have a strip of wood on the floor to let me know that the back has cleared the door and then a few strips of neoprene tape layered up on the wall which I open the door against to save scratching the paint.

I think a 'typical' single garage is around 2.4m/2.5m by 5m. This is about the size of the one I am in the process of replacing and the Exige fits in with room at the back for other stuff. Getting out is no problem.

In my experience they normally fit, but the tricky bit is getting in and out while its in there... its normally easier to get in and out with the doors opened most of the way and in a garage, thats not always easy.

Over the years, I've normally found that as they are so light (well S1s and maybe S2s) rolling it in and out of the garage is easy enough and simpler that. Obviously this advice may not apply to 1200kg V6 Exiges smile
