I've been looking for Elise R in the right colour for ages now, black and silver doesn't work for me, but I'm really limiting myself in cars, it seems all the right colour Elise's are hiding !
I know it's all about condition when purchasing but if I'm lashing the cash on a toy surely I should hold out for right spec ?
Or am I being unrealistic ?

You can guarantee that 3 will come onto the market in the right colour if you buy one in a different colour tongue out.

Which colour are you looking for? Maybe we can persuade you it's the wrong colour anyway wink.

More seriously I think it depends how strong your preference is for that colour and whether there's a second choice. I'm not that keen on silver myself. I think black can work, but the wheel choice can make a difference.

It's worth the wait. It took me 18 months to get the colour I wanted, Saffron yellow, in the right spec. with low miles.

I wouldn't have been happy with silver or any other "dull" colour.

The other colour I had in mind was burnt orange, but in all that time I didn't see one come up for sale.

I'd dismiss Black, but only on the basis that its difficult to keep clean. Aubergine wouldn't be on my list either. Strangely enough, don't like it a great deal in red. Titanium (silver grey) is fine by me. Burnt orange, Isotope green and solar yellow, simply awesome. All this being said, Id take any colour in the spectrum ahead of any Porsche-BMW.laugh

If not - I have to say that I am suffering something similar with my Elise shopping.

There is one way round it of course - throw money at the problem.

Buy the best spec car you can find irrespective of colour.
Respray.
ebay the wheels.
Buy Team Dynamics black alloys.

Hmmm tempting but as my 1st Lotus I don't think I'm prepared for a mad set of mods or the insurance bill.....
But thanks for the heads up...
